Palanca
The work of the Cursillo
Movement is the conversion and Christian renewal of people and the
evangelization of the groups and environments within which they
live. It is without question that this work should be built upon the
grace of God. This grace becomes the foundational corner stone upon
which all other human efforts must be based and developed. This
grace can be obtained only through the powerful means of trusting,
constant, and humble prayer.
As we’ve all come to know, without
God we are nothing and incapable of doing anything. It is so very
important to the Cursillo methodology that before we take any action
in the name of God’s works, we first and foremost, offer prayer,
sacrifice, and works of mercy. These actions of faith have been
labeled “palanca” in the Cursillo movement.
There are many Cursillo weekends
taking place and all are in need of "palanca".
Please take a look at the list of Cursillo communities and see if
you can help with prayer or any other form of offering that may be
needed for these weekends.

Palanca offerings should not be limited to the 3-day weekend. The
selection of candidates, the study of environments, the growth of
Group Reunions, Ultreyas and especially the work of the Secretariat
and the School of Leaders depend mostly on authentic and generous
Palanca offered by all. St. Paul reminds us in Romans 12:1, “Offer
yourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to Him.” This
is the true worship we should each offer.
