When I first made my Cursillo weekend in October of 2011, I was quite struck with the realization that I had not just gone through a sort of retreat weekend, but had in fact entered into a large community of like-minded people.
At the reunion ultreya, I was asked if I would like to give the witness talk, which I agreed to do. And as I stood there, sharing my weekend experience, and looking out at all the smiling faces of the people who had done the same, I was very moved by the realization that suddenly I had a whole bunch of new friends, people who were like-minded to me, who wanted to share our beautiful faith. The thought of having gained so many new friends was quite overwhelming for me, as I am not a person who takes friendship lightly.
